Hukom wants to be a mysterious folk horror film about a hotel and the witch that lives in the Honeymoon Suite (or basement), but is really just a let down. The movie is very safe in what it gives you (jump scares and a creepy but boring (and really, unimportant) monster. The plot isn’t very interesting and lack any sort of tension, the characters are one-dimensional and unremarkable. There’s really not much going on here that I’ll think about or even remember in the future. Also, Adam Scott proves again that he isn’t a leading man so just stop.
1 Skull awarded because of a couple scenes that were cool (hanging, dumbwaiter) but ultimately didn’t pay off.
