I guess I’m in my Shudder original block here, because here’s the latest entry in their V/H/S series of anthologies! This year, it’s music themed, and the best choice they made is getting GWAR to star in the wraparound segments and to just have them do nutjob little skits rather than tell a story.
I’m going to review it as a whole rather than doing each segment, even though there were some pretty drastic differences in the quality of each one. Overall they were pretty above board, and even the ones I thought were weak were still not that bad and mercifully short. There’s a fair amount of gore sprinkled throughout, but it stayed more in the fun zone than the body horror zone.
The talent was good, the overall quality was good. It always feels very Halloween watching these and this is no exception. A good, fun series to watch with friends.
