A couple on vacation meets another couple and they turn out to be no good. It’s very trope-y and predictable, but it’s not as straightforward as that. Other factors are at play here, and even as the couple understands more of what’s happening, they find themselves questioning their own morality and values. It’s a little more interesting that what it sounds like here, but honestly, not that much more.
I don’t want to say too much about the plot, but I didn’t really find it very compelling or thought provoking. Other than the one simple question (“What if they got the wrong one?”), the movie doesn’t really want to think about it too much either. Some of the visuals were cool, I guess.
The biggest positive here is Mia Goth being very good at her role, as always. Everyone else was fine, though there’s not really anything else that stands out (though a little props to Alexander Skarsgard for doing a good job with the dual role stuff). It was kind of hard to stay interested in a bunch of people I really didn’t give a single shit about.
