A folk-y feeling British film, Baghead is about a woman who inherits a countryside tavern when her dad dies, and she finds that there’s a monster woman in the basement that can grant some sort of boon.
The movie unfolds pretty quickly, revealing the monster and the history of the people that own the tavern, before turning into more of a mystery. I thought the monster was done well and the effects of the encounters were cool. The characters are mostly believable, but the main plot with the rich guy is kind of dumb.
Overall it’s a good popcorn on the couch movie, it can be a little slow, but the scary parts are pretty good.
