This mockumentary starts with the accidental drowning of a teen-aged girl, and then proceeds to tell all about her family’s encounters with her supposed ghost. As the story unfolds, more strange connections are made and new mysteries come to light. You find yourself wondering what horrible thing happened, or if her death was accidental at all, or why she’s haunting her old house.
The film is made really well. It totally felt like I was watching a true crime thing on Netflix but with photos and videos of a ghost. The story is presented at a nice pace and it all feels like a very professionally done documentary. I was really looking forward to seeing all the dots connected…until I didn’t.
There’s a reveal in the movie that just kills the whole vibe and made me feel like I just wasted a lot of time. They essentially invalidate everything then present a very weak resolution to what happened that is totally unrelated to the rest of the movie. It’s very disappointing.
I’ll keep my rating at 2 because even after the “big thing”, it’s still a very well done mockumentary, I just didn’t give a shit anymore.
