Very dark and Scandinavian, this movie is about a small family living on the edge of a bog where people keep trying to kill them. There’s more to the story, of course, and eventually the main character (a woman living with her parents and daughter) figures out there’s something to do with local folklore.
It’s a slow moving film, and switches between Dutch and English depending on who’s talking, so it was easy for me to get distracted, but I wouldn’t call it boring. The mystery of what is happening was also pretty confusing, but when it’s revealed what is actually happening (in literally the last 5 minutes) it’s pretty cool.
